I was hoping to make my new post from my newly re-cased computer and talk about how awesome my new case was.. but nay, I haven’t gotten it yet. Hopefully it’ll be here tomorrow.

In the meantime though, i’ll talk about other things; like the garden. The plants are growing, ever so slowly, and i think there are some blossoms for the corn and peppers; which is very exciting.

I also got some new books; impulse buys really. T-Minus and Hackers. I already finished T-Minus, it wasn’t a very long read. Plus the pictures were nice Hackers on the other hand is a bit longers, and not as exciting (for me anyway), though it is very informative and interesting. I’ll keep plugging away at that one for sure.

blah.. I’d really hoped to be able to talk about my new case.

I want to build this.

I’ve been looking at getting some sort of rainwater reclamation system built in our backyard. 1) because it would be fun, 2) it would help the compost out as city water has chlorine and other things harmful for compost microbes, and 3) it’ll help save water on watering plants and the garden.

right now the big issue is, WHERE DO I GET A 55 GALLON DRUM FROM?? Everything else seems pretty easy to get. and i’ve already found the spot where i want to put the drum. So now i just NEED the drum, build eveything and then get the rain-gods to pour their sweet juices to the earth.

That shouldn’t be too hard

Like i promised, i’m going to post pictures of the garden. It’s not huge, but it does produce a good amount of stuff

My parents have started a garden in our backyard. And so far we’ve grown quite a bit. We have a variety of tomatos, spicy peppers, rosemary, basil, and other herbs. Recently we’ve talked about expanding it, and i’ve been thinking about what else to add in. I’ve come up with cucumbers, raspberries (since i think i killed our last attempt), grapes, and olives. I’m not sure if we can grow all that, since some things are quite climate specific. But i think it would be cool to try.

Does anyone have any suggestions for things they think would be cool to grow?

I’ll post some pics of what we’ve grown so far later.
