Something I saw online.. It’s not that I don’t like anyone who’s Christian/Jewish/Muslim, it’s just the fanatics/maniacs/hardcore ones that can’t seem to even entertain the idea of intelligible debate over any topics religious.

I thought i’d clarify this, before assumptions were made.

Moving: A Review

So over this weekend I finished moving, for the most part anyway. So since Saturday I haven’t had internet access, or much sleep. It’s been really exhausting even if the amount of physical labor wasn’t that much. I had a few friends help with the move; that sure helped a lot!

I’m ninja posting from work atm, so i’ll have to keep this brief, since i really should be doing something else; like pulling my normal morning data and getting coffee. I’d like to thank everyone that came out to help me move, it helped a great deal!

I should have interwebs back by saturday, and everything will be back up and running. I’ll post my new IP address for you that have accounts on my server, so you can go back to finding goodies and downloading them.

I’ll be off MySpace, Facebook, or any other social networking site until i have internet back; they block all that stuff at my work. I’m lucky enough to be able to get to livejournal and my blog

Time for me to get some coffee and get to work.

[EDIT] Just wanted to say i promise to post pics once i has teh intarwebs.

Picnic Review

So the picnic was pretty cool. I had a good time. And it seems that others did too! There was lots of food and games.

I still think it would have been better with booze, but hey, you can’t get everything you want, right?

I’ll need to remember in the future that volleyball == excersize. I was so sore the next morning!

My parents have started a garden in our backyard. And so far we’ve grown quite a bit. We have a variety of tomatos, spicy peppers, rosemary, basil, and other herbs. Recently we’ve talked about expanding it, and i’ve been thinking about what else to add in. I’ve come up with cucumbers, raspberries (since i think i killed our last attempt), grapes, and olives. I’m not sure if we can grow all that, since some things are quite climate specific. But i think it would be cool to try.

Does anyone have any suggestions for things they think would be cool to grow?

I’ll post some pics of what we’ve grown so far later.

so after, well.. a long time, i’m going to stop using LJ. I’ll stop posting here at least. Don’t worry, i’ll still read all your blogs and leave you my three and a half cents. I’ve just moved on. Mainly, dancolomb.com. I went ahead and bought the domain name and set up a blog for myself. It’s a nice feeling knowing that i have full control over everything. Things seem to be changing in life. I can’t seem to put my finger on it, but i feel different. Maybe it’s the regular exercise, maybe it’s that work is finally calming down, maybe it’s the fact that i’m actually looking at places to move out into. maybe it’s all of those combined.

anyway, i should be a bit more active on my new blog, since i’ll be able to access it from work (hopefully) more regularly than LJ (it gets blocked when bandwidth becomes limited).

I got my new parts yesterday. I was quite excited. They included:

-G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
-AMD Phenom 2.5GHz Quad-Core
-MSI K9A2 Platinum Motherboard
-HIPER 880W Power Supply
-EVGA GeForce 8800GTS
-ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

All in all it cost me almost a grand. But so far it seems worth it. I stayed up until about 4am this morning putting it all together and sadly having to reinstall Windows (since it wouldn’t recognize my old RAID Array). It’s not too bad though, i only lost about 2 months worth of data. I’d done a reinstall back in April and i’d done a full back up then. And honestly i really haven’t done that much in the last two months. Anything that was important gets stored on the network, so i really didn’t lose that much.

Watch though, here in about a week i’ll need something that i’ve lost. Damn you Murphy and your stupid laws!

Right now i’m in the middle of reinstalling all my software (Office, Trillian, Steam, etc etc). I’m going to have to find a game that can really push this beast to the limits. Anyone got any suggestions? I’ve heard Crysis is pretty intense.
